Habitat: Shallow gravel-bottomed pools along clear upland streams. Prefers compacted gravel below riffles where it lives under rocks and among rubble.

Diet: Aquatic invertebrates including snails and insect larvae, particularly mayfly (Ephemeroptera) and fly (Diptera) larvae.

Reproduction: Spawning occurs from late April to May

Causes for Concern: Given the Caddo madtom's limited range, habitat destruction and degradation could severely impact this species survival.

Global Range: This madtom is endemic to the Caddo, upper Ouachita, and Little Missouri rivers of the Ouachita River drainage.
