State law requires the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission (AHNC) to publish an annual report. This link points to a complete copy of the annual report for the year 2007. Individual sections of the report are available below.
Executive Summary
This section of the report contains the Director's letter to the Governor and the Arkansas General Assembly as well as detailed information on the activities of each section within the ANHC for 2007.
System of Natural Areas
This link points to the part of the annual report that describes and accounts for the status and condition of each of the 63 properties now in the System of Natural Areas.
Registry of Natural Areas: Element Lists for Each Arkansas County
Included in the annual report, and also available separately through this link, are element lists for each of Arkansas's 75
counties. Pursuant to a resolution of the AHNC adopted October 13, 2000, the Registry of Natural Areas now consists of information concerning special species and their locations that is contained in the inventory information maintained by the AHNC's Arkansas Heritage Program. The element lists detail, county by county, all the plant and animal species for which the AHNC tracks habitats and the types of natural communities for which high-quality examples have been identified.
